For the last few months, I’ve been focused on one of the more ambitious projects that I’ve ever worked on, and we’ve just pulled back the curtain on it. In Session is a new video series from Aspen Institute that features Aspen network leaders sharing practical wisdom and lessons on leadership.
These short videos are meant to help other leaders navigate their own journeys, and they’re part of a larger initiative on leadership that we’ll be working on through 2025.
Conversations on great leadership and the need for great leadership couldn’t be more timely, so I’m hopeful that this work will find its audience and become a critical asset for those facing some of the difficult leadership challenges of the moment.

In total, we’ve shot some 30+ videos and will be rolling them out weekly through 2025. It’s been a BIG and rewarding project.
Some of the other leaders you’ll see in the series include:
Aspen Institute President and CEO Dan Porterfield, on igniting potential in young leaders.
Executive Director of Executive Leadership Seminars Todd Breyfogle on the importance of leaders connecting with their values to make critical and challenging decisions.
Co-Founder and Co-CEO of The Skimm Carly Zakin, on developing a trusted group of advisors.
Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company Simon Godwin, on leading people to overcome fear.
And many more.
Kaya Henderson is the Executive Vice President & Executive Director of the Center for Rising Generations. Here's her In Session video:
Getting to be in the room and guide the interviews for the In Session videos has been one of the more rewarding chapters of my career. Who wouldn’t want a crash course in leadership from some of the most thoughtful leaders working today? If anything, I hope that comes through in these videos.
Please consider subscribing to the Aspen Insitute YouTube channel to watch the In Session videos as they drop.

My Spotify “Chill Mix” (serious eye roll for that name) has been on repeat for the last few weeks, and this track from Alabaster DePlume is a great example why. I can get lost floating in this for song hours.
